Our Mission:
Heartland CASA is a non-profit organization, which advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the court system. Based on the belief that children are entitled to a safe and permanent home, trained CASA volunteers work in the court system in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel and community resources to serve as the child's advocates and represent the child in juvenile court.
Heartland CASA intensively trains the volunteers so they can enhance the quality of representation of children in court proceedings as they advocating for safe, permanent homes for abused and neglected children.
Our Vision:
Every child that enters the CASA network will have a safe and permanent home environment.
The counties we serve:
Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick.
Our need for volunteers:
On January 1, 2007 Hall County had 89 cases of child abuse and neglect, involving 158 children in the juvenile court system. Heartland CASA is involved in 30 of those cases advocating for 59 children.
